    Default 1JZ aircon Compressors

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know if all the 1JZ compressors mounting points are the same? I have noticed that the inlet and outlet are diffrent on some of them as in there location. The one on my gz20 is stuffed so i got another compressor out of another 1j car. Outlets appear slightly diffrent but want to know if the main body is the same??

I am hoping i can just unbolt the top plate (4bolts) and put in on the other compressor so the inlet and outlet line up.

    Any help appreciated.

There is a diffrence between the JZA70 and the JZZ30 ones. The pipe connectors are diffrent. Does anyone know if these are interchangable and if the main compressor mounts are the same? As i have not pulled the one out of my car yet.

main compressor mounts to the block should be exactly the same mate... just a matter of if those inlet outlet bits are able to be swapped...

I have both at home, planning to compare shortly to decide whether to use the VVTi one with the motor for my twin turbo to VVTi single turbo conversion. Depends mostly on the location/interchangeability of the hoses rather than the wiring in my case.

Cool. Can you post your findings here when you get a chance?

    Thanks.

Most of the time in Denso PA Series, the interface plates are interchangeable, as for Bodies, I think the bolt spacing would be the same so long as it's the same model e.g PA17.

I can vouch that 1JZ non VVTi, 1JZ VVTi and 2JZ non VVTi are all the same bolt holes + wiring plugs, with different plate for the pipes that can be swapped out...change the o-rings when you do it...mine are leaking

Aristo 2JZ ones are the same too.

No worries. I love these series of motors, 1J, 2J and the vvti variants, all the ancillaries are interchangeable (lots of them anyway). Even the 2J NA, all the same pretty much.

Based on the info here i went and got myself a jza70 compressor to replace my jzx90 (or at least i think it is) one. You were right, top plates swapped over no problems - thanks for that info. Plugs were different though, one triangular one square. Looks like this is because mine was swapped to match the cressida body loom though. I'd rep if i could work out how with this new theme thingo..
