    Default 22r carby conversion

I have a 22r that is running way too rich but cannot seem to adjust mixture ( I think it is preset). It is so rich the plugs carbon up almost straight away.
I was thinking of running gas only and have heard it all flows and goes better if I use a efi manifold instead of the carby manifold
any opiniobns appreciated or advice on how to get carby working ok
    thanks in advance

They should all be within 10 pounds of each other... just thinking you may have other issues....

If it is running rich all the time check the float level first. A high float level will make it run rich. The floats sometimes wear at the pivot point which will raise the float level. The float can also become porous and absorb fuel so it sinks instead of floating which will make your carby rich. Also check the condition of the needle and seat. The tip of the needle can wear so it doesnt shut off properly when the float pushes on it which will make your carby rich. Lastly you may have a vacuum leak at the base of the carby which is upsetting the power valve and causing it to stay open which will make the carby rich. Also check that the choke isnt sticking on a bit.

Yep my last 2x hilux's with 22Rs were always heavy on juice, my fix? Whack a Lexus V8 in that sucker, its lighter and better on fuel- somewhat dearer than a carby rebuild i suspect.
