    Talking celica BBQ trailer

after some initial ideas being exchanged at hanging rock
we are looking at the viability of building a BBQ trailer out of a rear half of a 22/23
any suggestions in design would be helpful
we had ideas ranging from the basic half car style through to a double ended type
( two rear halves joined together )
maybe someone with photoshop skills can help us
    cheers

maybe the rear boot (for BBQ) and the entire cabin area sitting on trailer a frame - then fit small spa into cabin area.

I have been thinking about this trailer idea and the biggest problem is going to be the heat from the BBQ.

If you mount the BBQ in the boot, is it going to blister the paint, melt the boot rubber or the plastic wiring for the lights. The second thing is the BBQ will have to have adjustable legs, (heat problem).
The other problem is going to be the balance of the trailer.

My idea is use the boot as an esky and mount the BBQ where the back seat use to be and the gas bottle can be mounted off the draw bar.

Another idea is to set the body of the Celica on hinges so the back tilts forward and exposes the BBQ.

slide out could get around the heat issue.

It is not just the heat issues to worry about. Cleaning the cooking fat spatters off the trailer was a prime consideration when the CCG trailer was built. I picked up a $20.00 BBQ and cut it to bits to fit in the boot, then welded tabs onto the BBQ to reattach the cut off bits.

The CCG trailer retains the complete live axle assembly with intact pineapple, just in case someone was to require a diff replacement at one of our track days.

Hard to believe that the trailer has been on the road for the last 5 years or so..

ian if you need ideas on how to attach the drawbar, drop me a pm.

    cheers Chuck.
