I can't zoom in on that pic, I suggest photo bucket instead.
Now that I mind but was the image borrowed from my site?
Originally these questions were posed directly to Ae25 cause he's already successfully done the exact same conversion but i figure if anyone else can help aswell that would be good =]
ok first couple of questions..
this is the wiring diagram that i'm using to get the 20v loom right (it was spliced into an ae86 and i had to remove that part of the loom to keep just the engine loom), i would like to know what the two things i've circled are?
next here is a picture of my igniter loom..
if you look at the wiring diagram it shows only 2 wires going to the igniter yet this one has 5..
i figure that the ones all joined are an earth and the wire with the masking tape hanging off it is the starter signal.. so basically i want to know is what do pins 4 & 5 plug into? pin 4 being the loose wire and 5 being one of that pair of plugs at the bottom and also where do i earth it to?
I also noted in your build thread that you were using the stock ae82 fuse box, did you have to modify it at all?
And what I'd like to know most of all is how you wired up the EFI main relay as in my haste i forgot to note how it was set up in the '86 and now it has me stumped as how to set it up
Generally speaking i'm keeping the alt and starter loom from the 82, just connecting up the starter signal wire (the prev owner set up a relay that seems to make it as easy as plugging in the signal wire and thats it, i can turn the engine over with just a battery and hooking this relay up like b4 and touching the signal wire to pos without any other loom attached.. will find out soon enough about that though lol)
another thing, Pin "L3" that connects to cco on the diagnostics terminal connects to an air temp sensor.. Where is this sensor located, is it needed?
with the "L" or 12 pin plug on the 20v ecu and the 14 pin plug on the 16v ecu i'm guessing you can directly swap pins marked +B1, BATT, CCO?, +B, W, EGW & SPD and i'm pretty sure FC plugs into the circuit opening relay (where it plugs into the diagnosis connector?) ???
All help is most appreciated

I would've but photo bucket decided it doesn't like my computer and i haven't had time to figure out a solution yet.
If it is i apologize for not referencing it as such but it was just the clearest diagram i could find on Google images and is what i've been using to try to tackle this job..
also if your the one who made it i am eternally grateful to you because it's made this sooo much easier ^.^
should you like i will happily edit my posts to include your name as reference?

edit: oh and if you want to zoom click the image above, then when in image shack, click the pic again and it will make it full screen, right click and click view image it will zoom in to 100% and this will be large enough to see everything clearly but you will need to scroll etc.

Best way to tackle this is to worry about 1 wire at a time...
Theoretically you can swap all the wires on the plugs , FC won't be because ae82 is map sensored where as ST 20v is afm. That green / white wire from the air flow meter goes to the Fuel open circuit relay as the ST 20v ecu doesn't have a FC pin. I'm not sure if the ST 20v has an air temp sensor or if it is part of the air flow meter... Either way, you don't need to alter this part of the loom to mate it with another car.
Other advice, if you are not 100% sure where things go, don't hook them up...
Hey thanks for that, i've been making pretty solid progress lately and i think its almost ready to be sat in the car and tested to see if things power up as needed
And yeah thats basically how i tackled it to begin with.. its really just lack of electrical knowledge (like how relays work for example) that was holding me up but i had an elec mate come round and give me a coupla hours of his time and with my new found knowledge things have been running relatively smoothly
also not hooking stuff up only works for so longlol
Thanx for the replies guys i appreciate it =]
edit:
oh and i didn't start with a factory ae101 loom.. if i had've i woulda been finished weeks ago i think.. it was already spliced into another car and was a real mess, repairing it was what took me the most time..

Only difference between a silvertop 20v and blacktop 20v is the AFM wiring and ECU pin outs.
oh funny.. searching for the cco pin info for you and found this thread.
i'll copy/paste the rollaclub PM here if you agree burcoty?

i'm using Ubuntu (linux) so its not quite that simpleits my own fault anyway, i was sick of it coming up with this popup so i clicked something and now it dunt appear and i cant allow photo bucket access to my comp
And yeah go for it i dont mind if you post the whole lot in here.. might help someone else![]()
