im assuming you mean conversion into a celica given that you wanna change the sump
hah! grouding the engine! fuck i havent done that in my celica yet..
in terms of the clutch it depends on the version of 1g, there is a 9" gen1/2 and 9.5" gen 3. youre right tho that there is no probs using that gearbox.. youre only real concern is that the friction plate splines match the box and the diameter fit inside the pressure plate. the pressure plate dowels will need to suit the flywheel..
depending on what the x-member in the celica you have have will depend on which sump you need
to mount the engine in mine i used a rear sump 1g and didnt have to change anything but massage the rear sump for the steering arm
you will need 1gge (non turbo) metal engine mounts to replace the cast items so your oil drain can be plugged in
EDIT: oh yeah and the best place to look for this stuff is in people thread in the members rides section

My question, is where are the grounding points on the 1ggte? I mean, where does it ground to the car body? Secondly, when I use my w58 for my conversion, Would I have to get a clutch kit specifically for the 1ggte and w58, or ? I know when you stick a 7mge in a mkII Supra, you can use the 5mge Flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, and release bearing. Basically, will anything clutch wise from another engine fit this, or is it 1ggte parts or no parts? Another thing, I know a 1geu oil pan is needed to convert this engine to front sump, but will I need another oil pump, or just another pick up tube? I'm sorry for all of the questions, I bought another MA61 today, and I'm just curious. My swap is about to commence.
Thanks for the help in advance!
