Default A340E stage two shift kitted.

Couldn't think of a better place to lodge this.

How much would one be looking at for an A340E auto trans with a stage two shift kit? (in very good condition)

Also, is there anyway at all to tell if a trans has been kitted without opening it? (awaiting the "hahahahaha no") But I thought maybe they stamp somewhere on the case or something?

    Thanks, Isaac

No one stamps anything on them , you would only be buying with the information given by the seller .

You can just fit a stage 2 kit to a standard box . However i reckon the stage 1 is enough for any street driven car .

Call MVautomatics in SA he will clear everything up for you, i have a stage 1.5 from him in my soarer trans(in a hilux 2wd) and i can confirm that for a street car the stage2 would be overkill, mine shifts so hard from first to second it kicks the arse end out and gets very squirrelly with the one legga diff i'm runnin, i have to back that TV cable off from standard to stop it slammin in gear to hard.

Look im gonna be honest, I own a gz20 that had a stage two shift kitted A340E.
Chirps on shift and kicks out hard with your foot down.

I took it out to make room for my w58 manual box, just want to get an honest opinion on what price i should put on it?

ide say if you got between 3 and 400 you would be doing alright if its just a stage 2 shift kit... Ie upgraded valvebody... If its a stage 2 box substancially more but all depending on condition...

    I think about $400 for a shift kit, I think it's called "Stage 1.5".

I got no idea what MV Offer now, wasn't there Stage 1 and 2, and now they just do "1.5" and 2 for some reason?

Would be good if they had a website detailing all the specifics of the kits.

i think you can get a "stage 3" box which is fully spragless for around 3-4k

by the sounds yours would be somewhere before that 1.5k since its 2nd hand... but then im really just plucking figures out with no definitive answers
