Your map sensor will be mounted in the compartment where your engine oil dipstick is, it is around the side of the hole under the seat.
They commonly will fill the map sensor line full of oil that can cause issues.
Hi guys,
A couple of good looks at my car and...

...have not indicated the presence of an air flow meter!
If I select a '97 tcr10 or earlier, an air flow meter is shown on top of the air cleaner. Mine deifinitely has none at that location.
Did Toyota use MAP for the '98+ TCR10 models? I thought this was a backward step.
Thanks.

OK then, MAP sensor it is. Is this an upgrade over a vane-type flow meter? (pre '98 TCR10s)
i would say yes as it doesn't have anything obstructing the path of air into the turbo/enigne... but having said that airflow metres don't seem to bother most cars as far as output is concerned...
it's just an alternative way of measuring the air to map the fuel required for an engine, where as the Map sensor just does this with manifold vac/boost.. each has thier own credits etc...
Its definately cheaper to replace a map sensor than an airflow meter.
