Default Stainless Steel Kick Plate for TA22

    Hi All,

I'm looking at getting some stainless steel kick plates made up for my TA22 to replace the old Aluminum ones. I'm basically wanting something folded up to make a new profile that holds the carpet in place and looks neat. Perhaps even laser engrave "Celica" or something like that on it.

Wanting to know if anyone has done anything similar or perhaps knows a decent mod that looks good and finishes off my interior.

    Cheers,

    Rob

Great idea rob but it won't be cheap,id suggest doing all the measurements yourself and then a cad drawing and shopping around for prices from water/laser cutting places.to keep the cost down with folds etc is probably look at just don't them flat rather than having the ridge that runs through them as it will be hard to replicate in anything thicker than the cheap aluminium they use on the originals. I don't know if that ridge also helps seal the door up tho so it might result in a bit more air noise in the cabin? I would be interested a set tho.

    Hi Riceburna,

I failed to tell that a mate of mine has had something made up to suit a VL commodore which I have been thinking of using as a template for mine. The only issue is that template is a little wide so would need to be changed slightly however the actual profile is fine.

When I get a chance I will need to see a few fabricators and see the feasibility of making them up. If there is enough interest I could perhaps get a large length folded up then cut to suit the length. The only issue I can see with fabrication is that the folds are really tight therefore a lot of standard folding machines wont be able to get a tight enough profile..
