Hey,
I have an "auto" ECU running still, after converting my car to 5spd.
There seems to be differences in drivability as far as i can tell. I get no problems in terms of leaning out at high rpm's...but i do get a rich fuel surge at <1% TPS (idle sw.?) which apparently is supposed to recover the engine when there is a torque converter there
Idle seems to be the same as if it was in D. 700RPM +/- 50. Some people say manual's can idle lower, but i would like it to be a bit higher.
The only things i had to do to make it all work were;
1) Jump the NSS (neutral start switch) to make the ECU think its in P or N all the time. Without this, the starter motor/efi won't engage.
2) Connect my reverse plug from the manual to the NSS loom which, on my car, is where it signals the reverse lights.
Thats all ive done and it all works perfectly. The rich surge is a driveability problem..(and im still not 100% sure what it is, but this is what ive been told), but i can live with it.
EDIT: This is on an OBDI engine, so im not sure if the G2 3SGE is OBDI or II.
