7mge is the same as 2jzge.
That said I also thought R154 was the same disk....
However surely the local clutch shop can make you a puck clutch plate to suit at a reasonable price that is new.... ?

hey folks.
i was speaking to some other guys before about this, and a fella on here briefly.
is there any reason why a 1jz-gte clutch DISK cannot be used in a 2jz-ge application?
1jzgte - 2jzge
240mm - 236mm
dose 4mm actually make any difference? thats only +2mm each side. if anything it would just mean these a tiny bit less contact area. i think it should fit inside of the GE pressure plate. worse case i may have to see if the local engineering shop will mill the plate down a touch.
the spline OD (29.8mm) and count appear to the the same according to exedy
the reason i ask it it seems much cheaper and easier to find a 1jz puck disk (can only find new exedy for 2jzge). they can normally be had with 75% life for $50-$100 if you look in the right place.

NPC said they can do a custom clutch with full face disk and pressure plate to suit GTE power/toque. about the same price as a new 5puck exedy except with higher clamp on the pressure plate.
i brought just a new replacement exedy disk ($65 usd or something) which will be fine to get the car running and get rego out of the way but im not confident it will be able to hold under full load. a used puck disk maybe enough to get me out of trouble (or is that actually in trouble haha). i dont mind spending money on a descent new clutch but it doesn't make sense if im not going to keep a w5* pending how long they last. but i need a W5* it to get the car registered and engine swap approved without a mod plate as i can use all standard parts without modification or tunnel bashing.
