    Default New post alert icons

I have an problem which is starting to get annoying

when I logon and look at the front page of the forums I can see which sections have new posts and which ones don't. If I go into (say) feed back and there is only 1 unread post... I read it and go back to the front page. The icon still tells me there is a new post there... I go in for a second time and it disappears.

Is this a cookies problem or program bug?

    It happens on both accounts.

Are you pressing back on the browser or are you choosing to go to the root of the forum with the forum list at the top of the page. If you just go back in the browser it will display a cached copy of the page, the same one you saw last time.

    I noticed a similar problem.
It appears that you can't see which forums have new posts if the posts are in a subfolder of that forum.
e.g. a post in a subforum of the classified section can't be seen from the main page because it is in a subforum.

I was clicking the root directory link.

EDIT - doesn't appear to do it on my home computer. May need to get work to finally retire my C64...

Yep this behaviour happens on all of the vbulletin sites I've checked on. It does list what the latest thread is on the right though so I've never really noticed that the icon wasn't right.

I'll bring this up on their support centre and see what I can find out.

It works fine at home but not at work... I assume it caches the icons or something and doesn't refresh them properly when you reload the page (even by hitting the refresh button)

Ah, goes to show how much I use the net from home I guess.

I'll have to check it out from home tonight then. Do you guys know what your workplaces are using for proxy? I know surprisingly enough we use ISA2k4.
