Extrude honing is oretty big in the states . There is only 1 place here in AUs , Mount Druitt i think , that does it . I would be curious about their pricing .
I have been working on my turbo manifold for my RT40 lately, and I have been careful to not get any dags etc on the inside of the manifold when constructing it, but I want to be 100% sure there is nothing in there before I get it high temp coated.
Is extrude honing or power porting as some call it, worth getting done? Or will the high temp coating process secure any dags that might be in there? if there are any at all.
I have so far only found one place "Abrasive Flow" who do it and I have emailed them to see if they can do it and what it would cost. I will post there reply for all who are interested.
Any thoughts?

Pretty dumb idea, far better to get it finished properly by a professional.
Whilst it may give some benefit three's no guarantee that it'll remove metal in the right places, it's more likely to remove softer metal and metal in places where the goo pressure is the highest.

points taken, I shall not worry about it.

If you want, cut the manifold in half, somewhere along the runners where you think you will be able to get a dremel bit in from both sides to access all the welds and then just re-weld along those 4 or 6 cuts.
In reality, unless you got the manifold too hot, or blew a few holes in it, whilst welding I think the insides will be fine. Just make sure you brace the manifold well and it won't crack.

Rep points are for those who feel inadequate in other areas !
Is it a custom manifold, made from steam pipe and welded together?

as long as it's Tig, or a very competant Mig operator, you shouldn't have power dags hanging inside everywhere..
i got a quote for ertude honing a little while back, was something like $600 for an inlet manifold and 1k for a 16V 4cyl head.
so yeh you won't be extrude honing it.
