ok bigends and mains are same as gen 2 same with cam shaft bearing caps and flywheel bolts are same as well and also head to block
I have a "client", who wants me to rebuild his BEAMS.
Having never touched any "S" part other then looking @ a 2nd gen 3SGTE head, I would like as much information as possible to consider my clients request.
1) Is there a FSM pdf, or other file on the BEAMS engine?
2) Other than the flywheel(dual mass isn't it?) are the short block internals similar, or the same as any of the US 3SGE?
3) Please take note I'm in the USA, and the BEAMS engine was not available here - so anything unique, that needs special attention I'll need to know, and find those parts.

the beams altezza motor is rwd and all of the gaskets are unique for this motor nothing is the same from gen 2 or gen 3 3sge a full vrs gasket set up is about 500 aussie this is for everything
Dan, if you want to check parts to see whats the same, you can find the altezza sxe10 on toyodiy.com

Glen, on the above you were talking about the Torque Specs being the same for the Crank/Rods/Cam Caps/Flywheel/Cyl head correct?
Andrew
yes they are all the same as in manual specs not auto
Andrew - beginning stages.... figured I'd ask
Glen is it? (Celica RA45) ok, gaskets are unique. Anything else you can advise - Do this, don't do that kinda thing?

just dont unbolt all of the unbrakos on the cam controllers .or you wont get them back together /you need hex head for inlet cam vvti cover and also bolt inside ,bigger cover on exhaust vvti and same size inside head bolts are similar to gen 2 and 3 then you will be able to pull head off ,also cams need to come out 1st so you can get to haed bolts
why disable ,when this is the best part ,as this moves the lobe center of the cams around to give you the best power
Ok, more details.... client doesn't want to disable it, but does want to run ITBs....
also, Glen, is there an engine overhaul manual available on the net?
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
no only from toyota or through me same with inlet manifold for quads
on manual fwd 1 will be the same ,but im not sure if it is on line thou

The real engine manuals are all in japanese, and are hardcopy (at least I haven't found a PDF... yet).
There IS a translation available here for the engine only, I think this is the one glen has as well:

As far as ITB's, it's either Glens or the TRD setup. Glens setup is pretty nice, as he also has 48 & 50mm I.D. throttle bodies which he has found gains on for race motors which need flow well above the stock setup. The TRD just has the standard 45mm blacktop ITB's. IF your going to have a stock or near stock motor the TRD is more than sufficient. If your lucky you might find a deal on a used TRD setup.

p.s. if you haven't been here yet, this is a good site to poke around for info on:
