Hi guys. I am having an issue with my corona. I occassionally put flashlube in the car. I put some in after putting about 40 litres in the car. the recommended amount. My dilemma now is it wont run. it fires, but then dies instantly. Wont idle, wont rev, just dies. I have changed the fuel filter. cleaned the carby, even put the fuel line straight into a jerry can with fresh fuel. I run it on 98 octane, and it has a 32/36 weber. I have even changed plugs, everything else ignition related is also fine.
Any help would be appreciated.. Don't know what to do next. Don't really want to rip the standard carby off the other rt118 i have. The weber has never had any issues. Rebuilt about 6 months ago.
Thanks

Will check that now. hopefully thats all it is!
It could be a blown ignition fuse.
Runs on the starter circuit which by-passes the resistor and ignition circuit running the coil straight off the 12V from the starter solinoid and then when you let off the starter it dies because no power going to the coil.

Hi. I changed ballist resistor and that fixed it! But the ballist resistor is really hot to touch... Could be normal I have never really felt it. Hooked uP the same as other one. I took it from my 79 mOdel parts rt118. Mine is a 76. Normal? Or not
Thanks
Hi,
They get hot.
Glad to see it's all running now.

You ould probably upgrade it to a higher wattage aluminium housed wirewound type from RS if you're worried.
Although, it's lasted all these years, so it's probably not too much of an issue.
