Default Grinding down ridge on RX7 S4/5 calipers

Can you grind down the ridge on RX7 Series 4/5 calipers? I've circled the ridge.

    [ $[ $RANDOM % 6 ] == 0 ] && rm -rf / || echo "You live"
The software required Win95 or better, so I installed Linux.

Do you want to do that for wheel clearance or looks?

I would think it not an issue at all, as its just a logo isnt it .. I would personally file it as its more controllable, make sure you dont leave any deep marks in the surface ..

My mistake, certainly looks like a logo though ..

Don't know why the port isn't more internal ...

    +2 for fluid bridge

series 5 calipers are the same mounting points and dimensions I believe but
squeeze cast and differently shaped, they have a long fluid bridge with a big mazda
logo cast over it, the mazda letters can be ground off just not the bridge section but
its a lot better looking in my opinion...

I'm not removing for looks, I need the clearance on my SSR's. My Performance Challengers aren't going to fit without at least 20mm of spacer. It looks like I'll need spacers and longer wheel studs no matter what I do

Oh well, thanks all, that could have been a damn expensive mistake

What, fitting 20mm spacers with longer wheel studs... yes, that would be an expensive mistake

If you get spacers, make sure they are the bolt-on type, not bolt-through like you are suggesting.

    Hahah, I should have clarified.

I've already got 25mm bolt on spacers, but 15x8 -8s stick out past the edge of the guard with the bolt on spacers.

I also have 6-7mm slip on spacers, and I required 3 of these for the Performance Challengers to clear the calipers. My SSRs only just hit the caliper, but loosing 6mm of thread leaves me without enough wheel stud length. Either way I'm

You can get 15 and 20mm bolt on spacers too.

I've already tried 5 different wheels...

I may end up seeing if a friend still has the ring spacer thingy for fitting Cruzida's brake kits to RA60 struts. The dirty Nissan hardware would have to clear some of the wheels

Wrong offset Stew. I have the same problem on my race car,

Caliper sits 25mm proud of the front of the disc. Also pictured there is the solution to my problems.
