Default Can i use a nissan oxygen sensor on a 1jzgte?

    hey guys,
i just went single turbo on my 1jzgte and the exhaust shop didnt weld the toyota 2 bolt flange on my dump pipe, they just welded the screw in type. Now i found a old sr20 nissan oxygen sensor in the garage. They are both 3 wire sensors. So instead of getting the flange rewelded on can i just use the nissan oxygen sensor?

im running an emanage ultimate on a 1jzgte

thanks for all ur help people!!

yes. you'll just have to do some searching to work out which is the O2 sense and the heater wires for both the nissan & 1J sensors .

What are the colours of the three wires on the SR o2 sensor?

hopefully 2 wires will be same colour, and they will be the heater

    OR

put multimeter across the wires.. the two that have a few ohms resistance between them... that'll be the heater
hopefully th ethird wire has no continuity to the other two, and will be the signal wire.

measure the resistance between the nissan wires and post here......

toyota, 2 black = heater wires

0 as in no continuity? or 0 as in 0 ohms?

i guess im novice when it comes to multimeters, so when i set my multimeter to ohms, it just shows 3. .
    when i tested the
    blk - white , white - red

it just stayed there showing 3. . so i just assumed nothing. is that right?

by the way the oxygen sensor isnt plugged in at the time, that doesnt matter does it?

    thanks for your help oldcorollas

ok, so it is showing same when connected to B-W or W-R as when nothing is connected to the multimeter?
in that case, the resistance is "infinite", or, open circuit.. ie no connection.

and yes, you should test the sensor when it is not plugged in (otherwise you are testing the cars wiring too)

that means that the 33.8ohms is the heaters resistance, and the two heater wires are the black and red (there is no polarity, you can hook +ve and -ve to either)

the white wire is the signal wire...

    so.. connect:
    Toyota - Nissan
    Black - Black
    Black - Red
    Blue - White

    and alls apples
(edit, the toyota loom may have differetn colours, but just check which toyota O2 sensor wire goes to what colour in the loom)

fwiw, most aftermarket sensors are just an M18x1.5 thread.. so it will be easy to get a replacement in future
