MOTOR SPORT "COME AND TRY" DAY

EASTERN CREEK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

SUNDAY 16
TH JANUARY 2011

Do you dream of becoming a motorsport champion ? or perhaps waving the chequered flag for a race winner?

Then the
Motor Sport "Come and Try" Day ? a free event at Eastern Creek International Raceway ? is the place to be on Sunday, 16th January, 2011.

Without spending a cent, participants can learn all aspects of competing and officiating ? an ideal opportunity for anyone who has a passion for motorsport, but is unsure how to get started.

Potential V8 superstars or F1 champions with a current road driver?s licence and a roadworthy registered car will be able to sample the main track or the motorkhana circuit under the guidance of competition driving coaches. Juniors
from the age of 12, who can actually drive, will be allowed on the motorkhana circuit.

For juniors who cannot yet drive, there will be Driver Training sessions during the day on the Figure 8 track.

Advisers from the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (
CAMS), Eastern Creek International Raceway and CAMS affiliated clubs will provide information on all aspects of competing or officiating.

This will include the role of CAMS as the sport?s regulatory body as well as topics including budgets, insurance, competition categories, event entry, competition day procedures, rules and the opportunities for volunteer officials ? a role that does not require any prior knowledge of mechanics or engineering.

Other activities include:

Sample drivers? briefing by a Clerk of Course,

Tours of the control tower, scrutineering bay and weighbridge,

Explanation of race control, timing / lap scoring and other roles,

Information on vehicle preparation safety and the role of the Scrutineer,

Safety and medical information from a paramedic,

Procedures in the event of an incident, and

Practical demonstrations by flag marshals and trackside officials.

Demonstrations include simulated races on the main track, motorkhana on the skid pan and drifting sessions on the figure-8 layout.

Free registration for this great opportunity is available at www.eastern-creek-raceway.com. Numbers may have to be limited, so do it
today...

Entry is through the Competitors Entry Gate 7 from 8 a.m. with activities starting at 9 a.m. Parking and entry are free.
