Default 22re flywheel to 18 rg clutch/ block

Hi Guys, recently i have intention to beef up my 18RG motor. I wonder anyone could tell me whether 22RE lightweight flywheel could fit into 18RG Clutch.

well as far as i can work out, when doing the w5x box to 18rg you use the 22r bell housing. so the starter should engage the ring gear and have no problems with the size of the flywheel. also when putting together a stroker 18rg, you use the 22r crank, so the bolt pattern should be the same. so as far as i can work out it should be the same, but id like for someone to confirm it be for i spend $500 on a flywheel from the US

I probably just go ahead with machine lightened the 18rg flywheel & retain the same of the rest, probably would easier this way as i'm not very mechanically savvy.

mate, Direct Clutch make a lightweight steel flywheel to suit the 18rg...it ends up being around 500 ish once you add in a new ring gear (which is available new from toyota and Direct Clutch also fitted it)

I haven't fitted mine yet though.

I dont think the 22r and the 18rg use the same bolt size, even if the pcd is the same.
