pistons went for 20500yen plus costs.. sayy 22000yen = $260

higher comp??? why???Originally Posted by kingmick
8.9 is high enough, and thes ehave squirter coutouts anyway....surely higher comp would start to limit possible boost?
edit: if you want to go to more than 20psi boost, or higher rpm, you would be thinking of diferent pistons anway... i'm not thinking that outlandishno dyno queen for me

i have said it time and time again but those pistons are the sh1t !
The price you can get them for and the quality ( expect nothing else from toyota) they are + the ceramic coating is second to none in factory issued engines.
I feel they are better than some aftermarket jobs !
Like the before mentioned : they only down side ( small ) is their weight !
Ahhhhh if only i could put the vid of my car letting go on the dyno on here you would realise just how much of a beating they can take

Re: Part no. of a GZE piston
is the part number 13013-16210 for an ae92 4agze (8.9:1) with a standard bore with no rings?
I am chasing some for my 20v

Re: Part no. of a GZE piston
The number on top of the pistons 1, 2, or 3,
are in relation to the bore size.
they are all bored bthe same from factory, but you always get a small tolerance difference between cylinders.
Only applies to standard bore size of course and when you go o/s you make the block suit the pistons not the pistons suit the block.
The differences are in thousandsth of a mm, and most are size 2, but you get the odd one that is a 1 or a 3.
If you look at a block with the head off you will see the 4 number stamped into the head gasket surface somewhere, same kinda deal as the main bearings sizes are stamped in the sump surface.
I run the 8.9 GZE one's in my 20V too, no problems yet up to 300hp.

Re: Part no. of a GZE piston
would this still be valid for a 20v block though?

I used all size 2 of the 8.9:1 GZE on my 20V block as they were all marked 2 also.
Was lucky because the 4 s/h pistons I had were all marked 2 too.

Re: Part no. of a GZE piston
Re: Part no. of a GZE piston
I would say so....... but if it were my engine id just measure up the bores after a light hone.
If they are within the factory spec order pistons to suit.
Id prob be inclined to order all pistons of the same no. ....like all no,2 pistons in my engine. but thats just me i guess.
Edit : bah beaten

Re: Part no. of a GZE piston
I will do just that thanks. But what is the tollerence for each piston? is DX20VT's guess right?
