Cool New Adaptronic model announced. Thoughts?

So it looks like Adaptronic are releasing a replacement to the e420c. To be released Feb 2011.

Here are the specs from the email they sent. Thoughts?

Adaptronic are about to release a new range of ECUs. These are based on an update to the e420c, and are similar and different in the following ways:

    - 4 injector / 4 ignition outputs
    - 3 trigger inputs, digital or reluctor, although they use the same pins in the connector whether they're reluctor or digital inputs, and digital inputs can trigger off both edges
    - Same software as 420, and 420 maps can be imported with minor tweaking (eg selection of reluctor / digital trigger inputs)
    - Faster execution speed than the 420
    - Flex fuel compatibility with the Siemens sensor (as used on GM vehicles)
    - Ignition timing idle control
    - Headphone output for listening to knock sensor
    - USB connection to laptop
    - Can read / write settings and upgrade firmware without the ECU being powered up (powered by USB)
    - Built-in 4-bar MAP sensor
    - Much more memory to support more firmware features that we haven't coded yet (eg arbitrary RPM / load spacing)
    - Plug-in ECUs are in the one box rather than with a patch harness - will be available for Mazda MX5 (NA-NB), RX8, Nissan SR20DET (S13-S15), Nissan R32, R33 and Z32

Some of those features look pretty good. Might look at upgrading when it comes out.

I was dissapointed when I saw they were staying with WARI but happy they've gone with a much better loom connection. From what my local dealer has said it's an addition to the range and the E420C is staying. For the price I'd look at other options mainly due to the interface/datalogging.

would have been good if this was to be replacing the E420C at the same price of sub 1K. not as appealing for an extra $500 considering the strength of the competition these days

are they now using a DSP for signal processing? that might explain some of the new costs.
