    Default Brake Problem Ra23

    Hey all

I have a stock ra23, which has had the calipers rebuilt, new pads, new rotors, after
bleeding the brakes there was no brakes. So took the master off and it was rooted, got it
re-sleeved with a stainless steel sleeve and bled it on the bench, on the car, then bled all
four corners and the brakes still aren't functioning properly.

The car pulls up very slightly only when the brake pedal is pressed hard up against the floor, until then the pedal is spongy and has no response.

I took the vacuum line off that runs from the booster to the intake manifold and there are
    no visible splits in it.

So what should i do next? Would i be looking at a new booster?

It just seems weird that everything is going one after another with my brakes, so frustrating just want to be able to drive it again.

    Thanks,

    Adam

NO. There is a direct solid mechanical link between your foot and the MC so it could not be the cause of your soft pedal, there could be some slack which might need to be adjusted out, but even then it will be solid contact after a cm or 2 of free travel.
    Remove the air or compliance/slack.

It sounds like there is air in the system.

How are you bleeding the brakes?

Are the bleed nipples all at the top of the calipers?

    Sound like air,
To confirm jack one wheel, turn the wheel while pressing the pedal (see when the presure to turn the wheel increases) if its harder to turn when the pedal is first pressed then its air, if it take a while then the play in the linkages need to be adjusted, or master cyclnder maybe stuck, the brake pedal height & Free play can be adjusted.

One person's bleeding brakes normally is another person's doing it the wrong way...

Anyways maybe time to take it to a brake person and ask them to have a look?
