Eldar some guy at Bob Jane doesn't sound like a reliable source so unless you have some concrete fact ie legislation stating what you said don't post it. Fact Holden, Ford, and every other manufacturer in Aus and cars for sale in aus sell cars with 235+ width tyres on 8 inch I think they'd know the legalities and have them met.
    If in doubt power out

I wouldve thought that asking a man that works at a tyre store, would be a little more "concrete" than making shit up.

What i posted, i did not make up, i heard with my own ears.

As far as i care, thats the law, yes, he may be wrong, but thats as ive heard it.

Don't try to get the utes load rate changed in QLD. LS is the mod plate code people are using and if you look up the guideline it specifically says that these codes are for trucks over 4.5 tonne.

Knew a bloke that had to have his removed and go all back to stock. The guy fitting the plate got reamed too.

    My two cents worth.

I clearly stated that the link was from NSW - as you can see that post is not edited. It was just another point of reference in a thread thin on outside sources at the time of that posting.

My friend had the same kind of traction problems in his triton mini truck with 388 chev stroker motor in it. best you can do is get a set of 14's and put a mini tub on it and that way you can put 255 or something on the back. means you have to get it engineered. something like 255/85/14 should do

I reckon the easiest way to sort this one out is go to your local transport department and find out what there guidelines are.Every state in Australia is different in all aspects of modifications to Motor Vehicles. Here in Tassie I reckon would be one of the easiest states to modify a car.At least we dont need mod plates for bigger wheels and tires.Go to www.transport.tas.gov.au and have a look at the very few things we have to do which is basically nothing.
    Cheers Brett.
