I recon you'd be better off getting 3 std bosch ignitors
I have two here for sale as it is (the other guy hasn't come through yet.)
Hey all,
I'll be getting an Adaptronic in the coming months, and i'm chasing a "dumb" ignition module that will be able to run my 7MGTE coils. Looking at the wiring diagrams, it appears the 7MGTE igniter isn't going to work as it uses one trigger signal and an addressing mode to tell it which output to fire.
Basically i'm after a 3-channel "dumb" igniter that's commonly available, or something else that will suit, with 3 inputs, and 3 outputs so I can run a wasted spark setup on my 1G.
Cheers,
Nathan

I'm kinda hoping for an all-in-one jobbie like the 7MGTE igniter I can't use, but if the time comes when I definetly need to spring for some, I may look at 3 individual ones.

What sort are they?

1 - Go to Pick a part/Upull/wrecker
2 - Pull 3 Bosch 008 ignitors out of the sea of Camiras there
3 - Install in car
4 - ???
5 - Profit

Afraid I don't know a 3channel one, but for availability and simplicity I like the Camira ignitors
Do 008's control the dwell themselves?

http://www.haltech.com.au/ignmodule.htm - Haltech has what i'm after, they cost $175-180 depending on where they come from. They're an option i'm considering. That said, i'd like to find out what they actually are, then there is the possibility of getting them cheaper.

Either 008s, or if you want to run individual coils, in a non-wasted spark setup you could use an RB20 or 25 ignitor.
RB20 is the pick there, 25s tend to cook ignitors (same as SR20s).
EDIT: the one from Haltech is a Bosch unit, not sure on the part number though. I would guess it is from a Crummydore though.

Only looking for a wasted spark setup. I only have 3 ignition outputs to play with.

I am not sure if it is a dumb igniter. I have an EF falcon coil pack I have to get rid of. It has one input and three outputs. I don’t need it as I am getting microleb which has internal igniter.

Also, on a side note, I went through about 8 wreckers before I found 2 ignitors.

Maybe I'm lucky. One trip to pick-a-part netted me 3 and I haven't had to use the spare in two and a half years (touch wood).

I think V6 camry from 97 on uses a dumb 3 channel ignitor I have the wiring diagram for it somewhere, not 100% sure that it is not addressing but it has three inputs and 3 outputs so it seems likely its "dumb"
hard to find at wreakers here though
otherwise wrx ej20's or whatever they are with the coils on each cylinder have a really compact 4 channel ignitor so using 3 of the channels should work fine. They have the pinouts labeled on the top so they are really easy to wire up. I think they are probably made by bosch
Same here. I got two from a wrecker no worries.
And they are dumb, no dwell controll. And they are the same as the haltech ones.
And I've never had any die on me. I've had two cook coils FOR me, but not die ON me.
