    Unhappy W58 Speedo Drive Confusion

I've got myself a nice W58 Gearbox for my 1UZ manual conversion. Now, much to my disappointment, once getting the gearbox home, discovered that it was without a speedo drive!!

Now, i've been through a number of threads, and i think i've worked out somewhat, what i need.

I've looked in my 'box and found that it has a 10 x 34-36 gear in it.

From what i can gather, this means i can use a speedo drive with either a 10/34, 10/35, or a 10/36 nylon gear on it. Is this correct???

If yes, what cars had one of these gears in it, so i can buy one? I've had a squiz at ToyoDIY and some cars no numbers relating to the gear. I found an MA70 with N=35, i'm assuming that meant 35 teeth, but didn't specify whether it was for a size 9,10,11 or..???

I'm not concerned with what ratios i'll end up with, i just want something to match what's in my gearbox, so when i put it all together, i'll have a semi functioning speedo to start with. I haven't finalised what diff ratio i'll be running, or what tyres etc. So i figured, i'll just get an inline step-down speedo correction box or something later on when all that's sorted out.

Any help would be much appreciated!

How were you able to tell the number of teeth on the plastic gear without it, as when I was checking my gearbox there didnt seem to be any numbers marked on the speedo gear?

Here are some part numbers I have orded to suit the 10 tooth drive in the gearbox. I have the 35 in currently and the other 2 are spare for when I want to adjust the speedo depending on what diff/tyres I use in the future, as I have a mechanical cable and its cheaper to simply swap gears (they are about $20ea from Amayama).

I read the number on the metal gear in gearbox. Which wasn't the most straight forward task, as the number was facing the inside of the gearbox. So i had to unclip the little clip locating it, then slide the gear across as far as it would go, then shine a torch in there and read the number, which i think was upside down too....

Thanks for the part numbers BTW!
