Default the right combo for my 1jz 4bie?

ok so im building up a 1jz for my 98 hilux.
I've bought a gt35r turbo 0.63 housing because i wanted it to spool up quick.
have a decent aftermarket turbo manifold

now i want to try and get around 5-600hp out of the motor, im unsure which cams would be suitable...the 262" or 272" ones with aftermarket springs? for outright power surely the 272 ones would be better, but due to being so wild will they affect how well the turbo works?

    thanks

That would be maxing it, big power and response is a hard thing to get right

What's the car going to be used for? Cammed up 4wd's are basically useless for serious off roading.

700hp turbo with the biggest housing availible, just did a quick search a
    gt35r
    0.63 a/r = ~550hp
    0.82 a/r = ~620hp
    1.06 a/r = ~700hp

and pretty sure that is engine hp not rwhp

yeah thats fine, i was referring to bhp not rwhp...id be happy with around the 500 mark.

beerhead - it will be used for a variety of things, mainly street driving using it as a work ute, it will go offroad to test out a few muddy/ steep tracks...but it is not going to be a rock crawler..too much expensive panel damage!!

having said that, the 272 cams would be better for making the extra power? or would the small rear housing cancel the power gains of the bigger cams?

I'll talk to my mate who's played with J motors quite a bit about this if you like. He was around 440whp on stock cams on an unmodified 1JZ with a T88 and a custom plenum. I'd say with the small housing, 262's will be enough of an upgrade to easily get you to your goal. OKE20's 2J KE20 runs 272's and puts 1000hp down with nos. So they're probably an overkill on such a small turbo.
