A bit of fencing wire and you'll have that turbo hanging off there in no time Witzl

SillyCarS - Wolf will be fine.....if you are running hi comp just don't try and run too close to the edge

Wolf 3D version 4 has more tuning resolution than an 18RGTE is likely to need.

Justen - the Mazda injectors aren't real pretty on the spray pattern. That dump pipe is nearly identical to the one that I ran on the back of the GT30. My flex joint fucked out in no time. I have since given up on running the flex joint. Nice workmanship, but I don't like the way the wastegate pipe joins the main pipe at 90deg.
Forgive me if it has been posted already, but is that one of the KKR 430 turbos? It sure likes like one from the shot in the engine bay.

    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

    Hey Jase,
As usual, my mate can take credit for the awesome welds when he finishes off what i start....no point trying to compete with his stick time.

Take your point on the wastegate pipe...2 reasons basically. I was a bit stuffed for space.....and to make it merge at a shallower angle was gonna set Zane back double the price. Pipe size is over what we need and thus far the design isn't limiting things....spool up is awesome.

Wish it was a KKR. It's old skool T3/T4. TO4E compressor with big arse T3 turbine. Really designed for a rote but the 2.4litres seems to cope well.

13BT injector tune this Fri. Yup, not the best injector but budget wise all we can do. My old 18RGT ran them with good success powerwise, just a bit fiddly to get any eco out of them. see how we go i guess?

Could you post a bigger pic next time my old eyes ain't what they used to be

The KKR's are the cheapest thing on the market - something like ~$700 brand new, same technology that you're dealing with though, just made in China.

I also run the 13BT injectors - power is not much of a problem, I just imagine better spool rates and cleaner burn (IE more torque) everywhere in the rev range if they atomized a bit better (I know that I am preaching to the converted), it is just something that I cannot get past.

edit/ I will get that pic resized to suit your failing eyesight

KKR look like good bang for buck to me but this turbo was even better. I think they use the newer S compressor wheel though eh? Whatever the E wheel is a known quantity so i'm confident this tractor engine will produce good numbers.

I'd like to try higher fuel rail pressure with the 13B injectors, should help a bit with atomisation....what rail pressure do you run? Only looking at 1 bar boost max on this engine so i think i can get away with up to 50psi base pressure (65psi @ max boost) without causing probs.....what do you think? I have run a 30psi differential across these injectors in the past no probs so to my mind this should be OK... or am i missing something?

    Should be O.K

    I run 45psi base.

what do you guys think about this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MonstA-T3-T4-...QQcmdZViewItem

i think its the same as yours justin, if i can get it for under $300 do its a goer?

also was there anyreason why you didnt go for an internal gate?

i'll PM you as well cos i want one of those sexy as manifolds and that 3.9 centre

witzl- those injectors are comin too if 450cc is going to be enough? thanks for the tip!

    cheers

450cc is enough for mild power/boost up to maybe ~150rwkW.... but nothing massive in the power stakes (get a real injector for that)

As for Mr Megapixel over here (jase) - i've fixed your pic mate

Witzl, a 450cc/min should get you to 200rwkw, just may need some fuel pressure tweaking. I'm running 400rwkw on my 8 supra injectors and they ain't working too hard yet?

I have just had better results with external gates. better flow design, usually better valve control, easier to size etc etc...screamer pipe potential

Shop is shut i'm afraid so no more manifolds....baby due next week so any free time i might have had is goooooone. Still have one last flange plate so pm me if you want that. Diff is still there waiting.

Ebay turbo would be s steal at that price
