Default 1MZ Heavy Duty Valve Springs.

I'm looking at fitting some 2MZ Intake and 3MZ Exhaust cams to my supercharged 1MZ as well as raising my redline to 7,000rpm and was wanting to know if anyone knew what was available in the way of heavy duty valve springs.

I've read online that 3SGTE valve springs can be used but haven't found anyone that has actually used them. I'm planning to go shimless buckets at the same time.

I figured since i'm going to have to re-shim to suit the new cams it was a ideal time to convert to shimless.

Max cam lift is 9mm on the Exhaust cam and i'm just about to measure the Intake cams I recieved but doing some reading they are around 9 - 9.5mm.

Haven't measured te stock valve springs yet, just trying to gather parts before I start pulling it all down.

1ZZFE Shimless buckets fit the 1MZ.
Springs, talk to Tristan at WTFAuto, I believe he has a source for heavy duty springs for the 1MZ.

Who are you getting to regrind your cams?

i think tristan uses "performance springs". dunno if they happen to be off another car or are actually made for the 1mz?

I was talking to Tristan a while ago about valve springs and haven't been able to get in touch with him since.

I was planning to go the 1ZZ shimless when I fitted the 2MZ and 3MZ cams.

Yeah they arrived yesterday. Cheers for that.

I've sent Tristan numerous e-mails but I imagine he is busy as he hasn't returned one since early December.
