    Default Setting input trigger timing

Hey, got a new ECU and it asks me to set the input trigger timing to 60deg BTDC in crankshaft deg (regardless of sensor being crank, cam or dizzy). Can anyone help me out just by first, explaining exactly what it means (because i think i know, but i want to be certain) and the best way to set it?

ECU is a wolf3d V4 and engine is a 3SGTE with standard distributor VR pickups

    Thanks heaps

i think the ECU delays the spark from the trigger point, so it works out advance as trigger point + x deg delay (instead of 0deg - advance, it is 60deg advance + delay, so the ecu doesn't have to count backward, or future predict). since you won't want 60deg advance, (max 40ish?) 60deg gives the ECU time to add in it's delay with no issues of the delay being too short.

You adjust that figure until the timing light shows the correct locked timing figure(usually 10 degrees).

So is it a setting which u adjust from the ECU? The manual only says:
"For best results, the input trigger must be setup at 60°BTDC. This is true whether your engine has a
    Crankshaft, Camshaft or Distributor Sensor."

So does that mean you set the setting at 60deg BTDC and then adjust it until you get timing of 10deg at the crank? Makes sense to me i guess. I think you're right 'oldcorollas', did some reading and yeh, that is pretty much what it means. Just need to set it up now haha

    thanks for the help
