Default AW11 to AE92 Ignition Change

    Hi,

    I have a AE92 4AGZE with DLI CAS ignition.

I need to replace the engine and have been offered an AW11 4AGZE with the distributor ignition.

Is there any problem with pulling the distributor systems off the AW11 and replacing it with the DLI CAS.

i.e. Pull distributor out of head and replace with CAS. Then mount coil packs on side of head - are there mounts on AW11 head for these ?

    Thks,

    Chrs, PAt

that stuff will all fit, I'd check the AW11 engine has provision for a knock sensor if your AE92 setup was MAP sensor'd. If it was map sensor'd you will also have to drill and tap the AW11 intake manifold to accept the AE92 intake air temp sensor which usually resides in the #4 runner.

Thks for the confirmation and the heads up on the air temp sensor - mine was AFM so should be okay.

But it does have a knock sensor so will check spare engine for that. Should not be real problem as do not think the Microtech I have installed uses it.

    Chrs, Pat
