Default stuck rotor.. any tips for removing??

any1 got any tips for removing a well-stuck rear rotor?.. took caliper & centre nut off in order to reomve rotor as i need to replace a broken wheel stud/bolt, but the disc just won't budge!.. (and after replacing the rear shock using nothing but some bits of wood and a mate's ingenuity, its a let down to not be able to get this sucker off!).. any help would be great. ta

    I assume handbrake is off?

There should be some threaded holes in the disc which allows you to jack the disc off with a couple of bolts also.

..yeah hand brake is off.. so there are threaded holes in the rotor for a jack? does that mean you actually insert a jack into these holes somehow to lift & loosen the disc?..

you put put a bolt with the right thread into the holes and then do the bolts up. as you do the bolts up it should push the rotor off. Not an actual jack, sorry for the confusing terminology.

You can also always use a gear puller. Do you plan on reusing the rotors? Sometimes they will just crack using a puller on them.

I'd suggest spraying some penetrine or WD40 in behind the disc - you can normally do this by spraying where the base of the stud it.

Sometimes they can let go with a bang, so make sure you have 1 or 2 nuts on but not tight, to retain it. Just like when you are trying to remove a stuck steering wheel. Leave the nut on but not tight.
    INOX + overnight.
Then jacking screws with M6 or whatever the size is bolts in it will usually do the trick.
The ones on my magna were on really hard and I think I used a jack in there to break it. That's when you really need to have left nuts on.

thanks guys.. all those tips were very helpful.. 8mm bolts did the trick in the end.. did come offf with a bang but not too far.. inserted new stud without having to remove brake shoes which was good.. for the record R & E Autos stock MX83 studs amongst other things.
