    Cracking event people!

Thank you so much to every one who raced, helped and generally contributed to a fantastic weekend.

Team Rising Sun had a stellar weekend. Everyone's cars performed really well and ended up a great 16th!

Team Corolla had a weekend of challenges and ended up with only a few cars with standing, and ended up 38th.

Top job all round every one, thanks once again for your support!

Well, for anyone that cares... i made it home.

It was definitely a great result for Team Rising Sun. Very impressive.

    Poor Team Corolla...

How did Darren go with his Hilux and the keys situation?

Team Corolla started with 6 drivers and 5 cars
3 cars were running by the end of the day
Phil and Cliff in the ae86 had major issues with a destroyed distribuitor and a run big end bearing (thanks Bursons)
Brian in the ae82 after some frantic efforts in the garage Saturday night had a head gasket fail on his first session on sunday (this meant Cliff who had transfered to Brians car did not get a run)
Terrys Commodore was having water temp issues all weekend
John in the Escort had a couple of little niggling issues all weekend but was still going at the end
my ae82 budget motorsport special apart from a loose accelerator cable and needing a brake replacement ran faultlessly all weekend in the capable hands of Joey and Phil
the team was placed very well in the results with an amazing 38th position
for those uneducated our team name was read out 3rd so we rated ahead of most
    bring on next year

Top weekend of motorsport for all Rising Sun runners. Shame about Team Corolla and certainly things that went wrong couldn't have been factored in by lack of preparation or anything of that nature. I'd say that by the end of the weekend none of the Corolla runners (and non runners) would be put off from giving it a crack again next year. Lets hope so cos it was good to see the teamwork and resourcefulness that they showed.

As has been said before it certainly goes a long way to have all the volunteers / team managers / timers / help out throughout the course of the weekend. James, Emma, Matthew, Andrew, Van and Cliff and others all made it that much more enjoyable by getting in and helping when and where they could. The racing is one part of the weekend but the whole teamwork aspect just makes it a great weekend. Also big thanks to Adam for organising such a crack team of drivers for Rising Sun and keeping everything running smoothly.

I just have to say that 16th place was a great reward for what was a consistent effort all day and thanks to Adam (once again), Peter, Ian, Darren and Tim for doing such a good job.

My car pretty much didn't miss a beat all weekend. Apart from a blown heater hose in practice 3 that was sorted by Andrew (thanks muchly) I pretty much circulated doing 1.56's the whole time. Not too shabby for the oldest car in the team and it got me home last night without any dramas.

So who's signing up for next year?.

It was definately the least stressful 6hr for me, despite the lead up being overseas. So a huge thanks to cliff and van for bringing up the car, getting it off the trailer and all the other stuff you brought along. Ian for the stickers, dazza for the fire extinguisher, Adam for the organising, Emma and others for all the timing, the crew who helped me with my brake pads, and all the drivers and supporters from both teams who made it sooo great!

Mixed emotions from the grumpy household, the corolla went like clockwork, but the sprinter just didn't wanna play.

The Celica made a new pb for itself, found the limits of old brake fluid, destroyed the old brake pads, and was generally very well behaved.

Time to start posting some piccies!

Had a great time on the weekend. Big thanks to Van aswell for trusting me with the red rocket, it took quite a while to grasp how to drive a fwd car around a race track, but i think i was starting to get the hang of it. With a few choice bits and maybe some semi's i recon it would be a semi-competitive car!
Big thanks to the managers for keeping us all in line and the timers for standing out there on the wall.
I'll definantly be there next year in my celica!

Can I say it now.. I am either racing or managing next year, not both

The Charade was back to its usual well behaved self.. and probably was good for my best time ever at Winton were I not trying to be regular! Lifting off when you boys hung out the 1.49 board just about killed me dammit!!!

Here are a few photos I took:

    How could anything go wrong??

If you look closely you can see Ian getting into the zone.... always a great effort from Ian... love it!

Special shout out to Emma for her dedication on pitwall!

Pretty good results there... especially Graham's run of 4 bonus laps in a row.

Tim, did your mates show you that vid of your off-road excursion? Any idea what happened there? I'm keen to see footage of you getting airborn through the ditch.

I did some quick analysis last night and I recall Graham getting the most bonus laps out of Team Rising Sun, so good show old chap!
