i believe once you have grinded the disc's to suit the XT130 struts, the easy bolt on calipers are ra 60 (4 stud) and ra65(5 stud) also hubs to suit.
need to confirm though.
Hey guys,
been sifting through all the threads regarding the CPH upgrade however for the moment i dont want to go down the route of having the hilux caliper, just want the xt130 strut replaced into a ta22.
Just wandering if the single piston caliper of the xt130 will only require a spacer (washer) to fit over a vented peugeot disc
Cheers,
Ezy

RA65 is not 5 stud, they arte the same 4x114.3mmPCD as every other RWD celica four stud.
As for Pug rotors and Sumitomo 2 spot callipers - yes, you will need a spacer between the two caliper halves. I used an 8mm spacer with seal steps drilled in, then assembled the callipers with longer high tensile bolts. I finished the job off by filing the spacer to suit the contour or the calipers. Be reminded, you will have to mill down the rotor a couple of mm (research yourself - I did this conversion over 10 years ago), for the sumitomo calipers to clear the rotor, and I also machined the "back of the face" of the hub to cleap the piston reservior area on the caliper.
i didnt realise you could space out the calipers suited to non-vented disc. I thought the solution would be to get calipers to suit vented disc (wider of course). So by simply inserting a spacer will give you the glory - might save me from buying new calipers...

QFM will do you thinner pads - RA60 or MX73 calipers with a spacer will work on 20mm rotors.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I should be getting my hands on some 2 piston Sumitomo calipers over the next - i was under the impression it only required a washer type spacing when mounting to the strut to center it over the rotor; but what is actually required is a spacer between the two halves of the caliper itself?
As for the rotor, it will be machined down to 266mm, this is to allow it to clear the caliper - is that correct?
Cheers
the standard rotor size is 266 from factory for the corona's (with the XT130 anyhow) so yes.

go with hilux/landcruiser 4pot calipers? may as well do a worth upgrade if your going to the effort.
i completely agree with ae71. the hilux calipers will come in both versions to suit either the solid or vented discs (go vented).

I know, it's probably the smarter of the two options...but, i've already got a set of 14" wheels i want on there, so this is just the solution to get it on the road
If i confirm the hilux calipers will fit under these wheels or change them in future then i figure at least ive got the set up there to upgrade easily enough
thanks for all the help!
plenty of guys are running 14" wheels over hilux//pug brakes. as you said it wll depend o your exact wheels though.
yes i ran 14inches under there - you just need to be weary of the offset, thats all

and rim design
I thought that was the case - that it is possible, the main issue is just to get it on the road at the moment, then will look into the Hilux upgrade.
I'm also assuming i don't need a MC upgrade just yet either to run the twin spots, or bias adjuster - not sure if i would need that with the hilux calipers
If you're after a MC and you do install larger calipers, buy a SXV10 V6 camry MC and yes the ABS or not, wont matter as all that is managed outside the MC.
