QFM brake pads, anybody used them?

Queensland Friction Materials (QFM) are a local Aussie manufacturing company that have some pretty good claims for their various brake pad compounds for both street & competition use, has anybody here had experience with them?

I'm looking for an equivalent to the Ferodo DS2500's, which unfortunately aren't available for my application. The compound must be suitable for 5-10 hard laps of Wakefield circuit, and also have reasonable cold stopping power for hillclimb type events.

fwiw: QFM is used by a few rally folks up here in Qld

GSL rallysport recently sponsored me and gave me a set of QFM A1RM pads to try. By the sounds of it they will suit street/track very well. They are aimed at a pad for rally, race, hill climb cars that also need to be street driven.

The temp range is 0 - 780 so higher than bendix ultimates.
Cold friction is .4 and hot friction is .48

I'll give more of an update as they progress.

Got some from GSL, work beautifully. Haven't really had time to get them super duper warm, but they held up for a little bit of a mountain run I had two weeks after I installed them.

The brake shop I go to regards them pretty highly, as a result I'm using them at the moment. I think they'd be alright for circuit use, I've only ever had them fade on very hard long downhill braking while thrashing through mountains and even then the only bad instance of this that comes to mind was when the car popped out of gear so I lost compression braking. The cold performance I find to be pretty decent.

A friend used them a while ago as well, I was impressed with their performance on his car too.

I use their street pad in my cressida. I think they are awesome. Not sure if its just me because the street pad's coefficient of friction only changes 0.01u from cold to 500. but i find them a little wooden on the first few km's of driving. after that it alll gooood.

they were pretty cheap as well

Sounding good so far, and the price is excellent (approx $130 for A1RM), but the lead time is 6-8 weeks from order!!!

i used the a1rm at eastern creek a few weeks ago. i was quite impressed with them. they bite fine when cold, but once you get heat into them they are great! im very happy with them for the price. i have never tried ds2500s so i cant compare with them.

the bloke said the 8 week wait will only be for the first set you order, once they have a pattern they keep a few in stock. i had the same problem with ms112 rears.

for the price id definitely recommend them.

In my case they have made them before (DB1375) but don't have any there at the moment, hence the looooong wait. Bit of a bugger, I thought buying from a local manufacturer would be faster. Sounds like they will be worth the wait though.

The main factory is about ten minutes down the road from me - Used their pads for years in my racing car and they were pretty good.

I enquired about GT4 pads a while ago, they items to suit the 4-spot ST205 calipers but earlier models might involve a wait. I think it depends on popularity/existing demand as to whether it's in-stock or requiring a backorder.

Bringing this thread up from the dead to see if anyone has used the QFM Comp Series pads? (Track use only pad.)

I've just scored sponsorship from GSL Rallysport and they're sending me some Comp 9 for the fronts and Comp 2 for the rear. Apparently this combo is popular with people that run R32 track cars, and I use R32 brakes front and rear, so should suit me similarly.

I'll let you know my opinions on them after this weekend's Winton 6 Hour. (If they arrive in time to install them.)
