Default hilux on patrol chassis body mount crossmembers

    Hi all,
Im in the process of putting my 98 hilux dual cab body on a GU patrol chassis. I have cut all the nissan body mounts off so i can make new ones for the hilux. I was thinking i should put crossmembers accross the chasis from mount to mount to tie the two adjacent mounts together. This should prevent the body ever cracking, which ive heard is quite common amoungst hardcore 4x4's.
Anyone else think this is a good idea or am i asking for rollovers? I would've thought itd make sfa difference, just more strengthening for the body if anything.

    All input appreciated
    thanks
    Blake

Hi Robbo. I am only a panel beater so take from this anything worthwhile & bin the rest.
Personaly if I wanted stiffness, an X member in chassis centre is what I would do.
Crossing from mount to mount is just tie rails & are likely to crack on the weld that is accross the chassis rail. Only weld front to back or in line with rails or at 45 degrees.
If you want this unit as a rock hopper you need twist in the chassis so your not hanging a wheel in the air instead of on the ground driving. Spirited road use will want stiffness.
