help with aw11 door locks unlockable

I have a drama with my MK1 MR2 1988 model
I was sitting in it the other day without the engine/ignition switched on and all of a sudden the doors lock on me
It has central locking from the door key locks also
i have tried disconnecting the battery and manually unlocking it
i have tried taking off the drivers switch assy inside and shorting term 4 and 12
both doors are locked still and the key shows resitance in it and the manual handle inside on both

all that seems to happen is the control relay in passengers door clicks


please any help appriciated

Sorry when you say you have taken the power away stuck the key in the door and turned it has it stayed lock, or does the door lock/unlock normally? without power the key should work like any key.

If its stayed locked without power it sounds like the solenoid has jammed the locking system closed. If so have you tried taking the clip for the solenoid off the rod controls as see if the door unlocks?

Try unmounting the solenoid and see and try shorting the connections again see if they do anything without the pressure of the locking rods on them.


I would be taking the control box out taking the casing off and looking for damage circuits inside, leaking caps, corrosion build etc, anything suspect.

without power they are staying locked still.
if i turn the key there is a clicking noise from thecontrol box inside the passangers door and the lock solinoids.]
the door are close just now so i am not sure how to get the door panel off either
