AE82 clutch will do you fine, just if you buy a clutch kit you'll need to swap the bearing.
I bought a KE70 with a bigport 4age (silver with black writing on the cam covers).
It desperately needs a clutch. What I want to know is where does the clutch come from.
It’s got a sprinter gearbox so which clutch should I buy. Will an ae82 twincam clutch work???
I have not idea.
What do I ask for at auto1 or wherever I decide to buy it from?
Anyone got any ideas??????
Thanks Daniel

so do i need to use a different throw out bearing
yeah get a clutch kit for a bigport (ae82) and get a thrust bearing for a ae86 (T50) box.
its also a good idea to change spigot bush while you are at it, thats in the back of teh crank.

First performance clutch?
Ask for a full face organic friction plate and a heavy duty pressure plate to suit a ae82 twincam16
The next one, for when you break the one above, but will shit you to tears if you have to commute
4 puke ceramic paddle friction plate with heavy duty pressure plate.
i use and recommend exedy clutches
how easy can it be, pick one of the kits off this page

don't forget to grab a new 6001 spigot bearing to put in the end of the crank
if it's got one, change it anyway

The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new
Ceramic clutches are nt too bad in traffic.Atleast my old one wasnt !

yeah but you cannot ride them, that ism if you want them to last.......
Depends on a lot of things, but you can get varying differences between a really sharp and bitey ceramic, and the one i have, which feels like a grabby HD
Just thought i'd warn others, because driving in traffic isn't that bad, but if you do it every day day in day out, it gets a little tiresome. Especially after a long day at work.
My mate has some crazy button jap dorifto clutch, combined with a chatty 2 way mechanical, it's quite a bitch to drive. Not something i'd like to drive everyday.

ive ordered an ae82 heavy duty and a sprinter thrust bearing. so i should be doing the change over the weekend
hopefully it all works out right.
i dont really want any serious kind of clutch because this is going to be my daily driver while i do the gze conversion in my aw11.
thanks for your help guys
For a fairly standard NA 4AG there is no need for any nasty clutches. My cheap-o 'heavy duty' clutch kit ($150) has put up with me abusing it for two years. Turbo 4AG's are a different story though... I can confess to having this issue several years ago, spending far too much on 'good' clutches that lasted all of a few minutes. Then again, the T50 is a fragile little thing that won't take more than that anyway.
As pointed out above, replace the spigot bearing (not bush!), for all of a couple of $ you might as well.
ive put in an excedy heavyduty clutch, changed the spigot bearing.
and yes i had to use a sprinter thrust bearing.
im very happy with how the clutch works.![]()
