Arrow need help brake upgrades on ta22

I have just got my V6 celica up and running again and it is almost ready for engineering and rego but need help in stopping it.

I have placed a VN master cylinder on it but still need more stopping power and was wondering what front brakes can I fit to it and which would be the best way to go?

Also I was after the ways that I can strengthen up the chassis?

Any imput would be very helpful, thanks.

Is that the 3.8 litre VN commo motor? Sounds like a bit of fun, how is the handling with the heavier engine in there? Which gearbox and diff did you use?

Brake upgrade: What do you have at the moment? stock TA22 setup? upgraded suspension? How much are you looking to spend?
Theres a few options but the only one that could 'almost' bolt up is the corona struts/peugot discs/hilux caliper upgrade.

Yes it is a 3.8 litre VN commodore motor.
It is a whole lot of fun. I have only got to drive it twice from house to house but on hitting corners you can not help but go sideways. Punch it at 40km/h and the wheels start to spin, it is almost insane.

I currently have the original suspension on it and it handles ok but I'm going to order new heavier springs to make it better.

I have had to lift the body off the crossmember 2 inches to cater for the height of the engine which screwed up the the wheel alignment, but I lowered the suspension from the shock towers by another 2 inches which will require spacer plates to be made up. This should fix most handling problems.

I currently have the original brakes on it and have called a mob in Wagga that can apparently order in slotted rotors for the ta22 celica but I have to call tomorrow to confirm and price them, so I will keep you all posted.

I am currently running a t700 holden trans with the original diff which I have given hell and is still yet to break! ?!?!

You can get slotted DBA Discs for TA22s almost anywhere.
We can order them in at Supercheap Auto so repco etc would do it too...

I'm looking at a set of slotted rotors for the ta22 from melbourne for $70 each don't now if there dba yet.
The brake bloke said that they would pull the car up quick enough even with a V6 in it.

The brake bloke may say that, but its what your engineer says which matters
