Default High Comp 4AGE Forged Piston Question

I have seen some funny things with other pistons, and I am not personally building a high comp 4age motor myself so I haven't come across it. But do the high compression pistons such as Arias 4AGE 16V ones from ParadiseRacing, or the Wiseco ones for the 4AGE from the USA, fit in the GZE blocks?

I know they will physically fit, but do they come with the cutouts in the piston skirts for the oil squirters? As some CA18 Wiseco pistons I bought and fitted a couple of months ago to a mates car required the oil squirters in the CA18 block to be modified otherwise the pistons would damage them by hitting them.

It may seem a stupid question to some, but I am not building a high compressor motor so I honestly have no idea and all the manufacturers data says the pistons suit 4AGE and not 4AGZE, so I am a little doubtful as to whether they have the cutouts for the oil squirters or not?

Can someone please confirm this as my brother is building a high comp motor and he doesn't want to order the pistons until we know for sure.

I have emailed Luis at ParadiseRacing but have had no luck with an answer as of yet.

The bigport 4AGEs don't have oil squirters, the smallport ones do, so there's a decent chance they'll fit

as said, the difference is not 4AGE/4AGZE, as both engines of the same generation use identical blocks.

the only difference would be between the actual generations, if they say they suit smallport 4AGE then that will be fine, as they have oil squirters

    The Arias website, http://www.ariaspistons.com/products/toyota.html# , says that they suit Toyota 4AGE 1.6L DOHC 88 - 92 MR2 ?

    The Wiseco website's catalog, http://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/Sport...baruToyota.pdf , says that they suit Celica/MR2 4AG ?

Were the 4A powered MR2's all smallport or were there bigport variants as well?

other way around. all AW11 MR2's are bigports (n/a or s/c), which means no oil squirters. but that doesnt mean the pistons are necessarily incompatible with an oil squirter block. best bet would be to email arias and get confirmation

There may be no need for a different piston, everything depends on the skirt. In the photo above, far right is TVIS piston, then high comp with cut out, then silvertop(w reduced skirt), finally JE F/A piston is on the far left

The Wisecos should fit ok. They dont seem to have as low a skirt as the smallport stock pistons:

Remember as well that you need a 20mm gudgeon pin for the smallport 4AGs as otherwise you have to switch over to the bigport crank and rods.

Also, on the topic, im finding it pretty hard to find 20mm gudgeon pin 4AG pistons with any CR up around the 12:1 ratio.
JE dont seem to make them anymore, and Arias dont make any in 20mm gudgeon.

Arias makes them with a 11 comp ratio in 20mm, what if you get a set from Arias custom made to suit your C/R ?

and yes, 20mm is what I am after too. (SPOOL rods)

What is the part number for the 11 CR in 20mm. I was looking at their catalog yesterday and all they did was 20v in 20mm gudgeon.
