Try flushing the system re filling and bleeding and see if there is still an issue.

Before spending dollars on pump &/or Rack.

Otherwise i would be leaning towards the pump as i had the same car and i had to replace the pump but my bro who is a mechanic did the flush bleed thing first to try and alleviate the problem.
Wish I had a F#%ken awesome toyota.. saving for the goodness now.... stay tuned....

hey thanks for that.. made it a little better, but found out it was the uni joint in the steering wheel hight adjuster. it has never turned so smooth! It's been a great car with very little problems.. even after it spent 2 hours under salty water in the 2008 Mackay floods. apart from this, the only thing i have replaced is the wheel bearings. Cheap to run and reliable.. I've attached a picture of it in the flood

Wow.. if that water had got any higher you probably woulda lost it. If any holdens got that high in the water it woulda been a goner.

Polarisers are mounted high on the firewall.... thats where all the Orgone energy is... Don't you know anything ... although if the moisture gets to the polariser sticker (which I believe acts as a focal point..) well, then you'de be in deep trouble

I was simply speaking to toyota build quality as i bet a similar age holden probably would have leaked like a seive but i bet the toyota was probably a lot better.
