Matt-AE86 - if i can actually track them down, i'll definatly use them,
but it's not a good time of year to be chasing parts tho - might have to wait until after xmas/new years.
I may just buy a reco alternator if i can't find one second hand, the air-con is still a sticking point. I'd prefer not to have to adapt fittings and lines to a new unit.
If i can get an alternator with the 4ac type pulley but rated the same as the 4age ( 50amp i believe ) i'll stick to the 4ac compressor and crank pulley - multirib belts be damed.
Dom-KE55 - I've been told the 4age alt is rated at 50 amp, not sure what the 4ac is rated at, but its probably significantly less being off a humble carb motor.
This is the only thing i could imagine being different between the two (besides pulleys).
P.S. The only reason i'm asking these questions is that the donor motor i bought was missing AFM, alternator and compressor and i'm having trouble getting hold of the nessesary bits, so i may need to improvise.
