Ok after finding out my TRD ecu is poop im looking at what to run now.
The 2 main contenders im looking at are the Wolf 3D V4X and the Adaptronic e420c, now I dont completely understand what each one has over the others.
The car it will be installed into can be seen at this link:

Link to Wolf ECU:
http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/668742.html
Price: around $1400
Link to Adaptronic ECU:
http://adaptronic.com.au/products/e420c.html
Price: around $950
The car is my every day car and will never see the track, because of this I want a bit of fuel economy.
Now, what do you use, what are the good/bad points of it?
Out of these 2 what is value for money? (considering its only my day to day car)
Cheers

I used to have an Adaptronic e420c on my old GA61. Worked brilliantly, customer support was great, and they were responsive with releasing new firmware. I loved it so much, that I bought another one for my current car. The only problem I had with it was starting problems with low battery, they since did a modification to the ECU to fix this. The current owner spoke to them about it, and for the cost of one-way postage Adaptronic made the modification, ran a full diagnostic suite and Express Posted it back.
Auto tune was great, I got better fuel economy than the factory ECU, more power, and more consistent power. Tuning itself was a piece of cake.
On my current car, I've not yet driven it yet, expect the same experience. Would I recommend it? I bought another one didn't I![]()

after helping my mate with his 4g63t powered galant with wolf 3d. ill never touch the things again. aftermarket support (which you have to pay extra for) is non existant, and parts are expensive.

+1 from me for the adaptronic!I know I recommended wolf to you earlier on in your other post, but that was simply because your tuner had a good knowledge. If you are after best bang for buck, stick with adaptronic though!

Yep, +1 for adaptronic. Mine has been great.
Haha not a single rep for wolf yet...
to quote a noble celica owner....
Wolf3D = Will Only Last For 3 Days.
.... buy the adaptronic. My uber 18R-GTE will be controlled by one, and so far, playing with the tuning software i can already see that I will be happy with it.
If you dont have the budget for an Autronic (and face it river, most of us dont), then definitely buy an Adaptronic.
...... butt scratcher?!
Toymods has a lot of Adaptronic users, myself included, go to another forum and you will get different responses. Best thing about the Adaptronic, is the firmware upgrades and good customer support.
Adaptronic over wolf any day.
I would rather have a carby & points than a wolf , they are all poo
I have had issues with the interface between my 20V crank angle sensor and the 4.1 ECU I have, some noise fault or something. I can't see why no other ECU's are known for this issue, because I have known of this problem with multiple people, many resort to chopping teeth off the sensor.
thats probably cos most other ECUs have high quality zero-cross circuitry which can handle a wide array of variable reluctor signals.
Microtech, Adaptronic, Autronic, Haltech, etc all have no issues
Yeah i personally wouldnt chose a Wolf3D at all.
...... butt scratcher?!
+1 Adaptronic - runs our 1UZ flawlessly, support from them is fantastic, user support base is large, wiring is simple and any competent tuner can quickly tune them.
