Truetrac torsen diff is a good option.
With the dollar the way it is at the moment, buying directly from the states isnt too expensive.

...... butt scratcher?!
What ratio are you after? Or just centre with our current ratio?
buy a lsd from a hilux 4wd , on ebay all the time $200-300
Yeah id be doing what Mxracer said, people often sell the centres when they fit Air Lockers, so there are a few around... They are clutch pack LSD's though and wont last forever, but a good cheap option to get the thing sideways....
so if you went to the wreckers and they had a 4wd hilux (4runner) there which had diff intact.. the centre would fit into the 2wd housing??
yep, the only issue can be the ratios are often unsuitable for 2WD...4.5:1 + etc. Its hard finding a good 2WD ratio with LSD.
I'm on the lookout for a 3.54 to 3.9 for my conversion, as will have double the torque as the standard 22R and may as well use longer legs for economy and not to be changing gears constantly.
Westfield Clubman SEi - 4AGE Blacktop, T50
RN90R Hilux XtraCab - VT V6 (yeah yeah) ,4L60-E, 3.583 LSD
ok cool cheers,, i found a z20 soarer at the wreckers with a 7mgte in it.. so the diff out of that will fit pretty good??
this is true , newer hilux 4wd have a 3.58 lsd , i got mine from a 2005 hilux 4wd and put it into my 2jz hiace van , was 4.55 open previously , the flange was different but i just swapped it on the tailshaft uni.
mint cruising ratio , and motor has plenty enough torque to pull it away from starting start
