1G Stock turbo gaskets?

Hi, I intend to change my stock turbo's over soon on my 1G.

Has someone done this before, and can you tell me what gaskets their are that can be replaced and who would stock them ? I figure I should replace any that can be replaced when changing the turbo's over.

I just used the ones from my engine... they were in good condition Maybe a bit of the old super high temp sealant to keep them from leaking at all!

They can be reused, they're fairly bloody sturdy. That said, make sure you use a bit of sealant unlike I did, I've got a little exhaust leak I need to investigate over the weekend.

On, and on the inlet side of the turbos I originally made my own gaskets, but this time I just used a bit of goo. Seems to be working AOK.

There isa Turbo gasket replacement set.. Funilly enough, Toyota sell them

In all honesty most can be reused fine, but the one of top of the downpipe is not reusable as it is a crush gasket, they are cheap to replace!

I simply reused my 1JZ ones. (i'm under the impression that the gaskets cost a small fortune from toyota!)

As JCMF did I only used silicon on the compressor side stuff, as the stock gaskets are metal crush type gaskets which can't really be reused

And I also put a very thin layer of high temp silicon on the exhaust side gaskets that I reused.

I guess I will only know the condition of the gaskets untill I pull off the turbo's.

Umm I can pm you but I will check out the price of the gaskets as well to see what they are worth.

Is Toyota the only place that would sell them, or maybe an import place would?

I got some gaskets made up. Gave the guy my old gaskets and he made new ones fromit.
