    I'll post in here too

A bunch of us from my work are headead out as a group on the 27th.

So my yellow RA23-18RGU will be there complete with super rattly chain guide
And if I get the front brakes all rebuilt nicely. (redid the calipers tonight, replacing lines etc tomorrow night.)

In our group (THQgroup) there will be a BMW M5, Evo7, Integra typeS, Alfa GTV, RX7 20b (water/methanol injection), Liberty, another Integra I think plus my old school beast.

I will be prepared to be overtaken all day amongst those more modern cars, although its going to be the first time for a lot of us.

good to hear, there might be a few toyotas there by the sounds of it, a few starlets are likely to be turning up, and I bet there's gonna be the usual crazy GT40s, porsches, ferraris, GTRs, TTV8 cobras, S2000s etc. to stay out of the way of

Dont forget the EVOs and WRXs. Heaps of my mates are going out in the prev. mentioned cars and there are some seriously fast guys amongst them. Should be a great day will try to come out for a look as i am dropping my 18rg to engine builder that day. Cant wait to have it up and going again. It has been nearly 2 years

My car overheated on the way out there (fu!k f!ck fuk! fuck!)
oh well shit happens I guess. I'm thinking It might have been a bad earth for the EWP controller, but I 'll have to suss it all out.

My entry should be transferrable for the next one in Feb I think it is, so I should be there I guess.

I lasted a 2 whole laps before it went bang

    Got my outlap, felt good.

First timed lap was awesome, 2nd lap was feeling good, started on 3rd and BANG, I now have a hole in the back of my sump.

First time out there and didnt change early enough so probably starved it of oil and paid the price for it.

ahh well, least I didnt hit a wall

Video soon.(not of the engine going bang, just me coming up the straight. a couple of times)

    bad luck mate

i also had a problem on the day, my CDI unit shat itself 0.5 laps into the first session (stupid thing). so i ran the rest of the day without it, unfortunately i had new brakes all round (GT starlet fronts and rears) and it took me almost 2 sessions to get used to the change. An extra session woulda been great. got with-in 0.2 secs of my best with 66.75, guess ill just have to crack it next time

hope you guys dont get put off, we need more toyota's out there! rebuild and return! (gee that sounds expensive doesnt it)

Yeah I saw your car out there, but didnt actually see you !

I'm not put off, just angry at myself for over revving it.

Watching the tape my wife recorded I could see exactly what I did, in the moment of driving, I got caught up on the 2nd lap and on the main straight didnt change out of 3rd, kept it in 3rd all the way around the top corner and just after that it started to feel not quite right. My inexperience showed as I should have gone off the track at the pits but kept going up the straight and it seized just after the start/finish line. You can just hear my friend on the tape going uh oh something not right, when my wife switched it off!!! I told her she should have swung the camera and got me with smoke out the back etc.

I think it may be fairly terminal though, hole in the sump at the back, coolant mixed with the oil after it was on the flat top. got to get it out and determine what damage there is, if the head is ok then I might look at sourcing stuff again, but if all that is buggered then not sure what to do.

Might have to finish the red ta22 with the 2T

yeah unlucky fellas, seems like I got off pretty easy now, I guess this is the thing with modifying cars and putting em through their paces, there's always a chance something will go wrong.

It will be cool to get some more toyota power out there eventually.
