    Default Flywheel Bolts 1JZ-GTE R154

Hi, Anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Geniune Toyota flywheel bolts (p/n 90910-02103) at $12 each, that $100 for 8 bolts!
what grade do the bolts need to be?
what torque setting and tighten sequence?
Can the old bolts be reused?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I reused old bolts with lots of locktight on my 2JZGE flywheel.

Old bolts shouldn't be reused as they're TTY/torque to yield which leaves them stretched and unserviceable after being torqued the first time.

I've heard the opposite is true with Toyota bolts, in that they arent TTY bolts.

I've reused many a flywheel bolt in the past, and I'm sure 90% of the people on this board have.

Always use a little bit of loctite though.

I just bought new TC bolts for my 1UZ and they weren't TTY, just grade 8.8. Mine were
M10x1.25x27 so they were small to suit a flex plate.
Very hard to find correct aftermarket bolts so I was forced to buy genuine. I was lucky as the were only a few dollars each anyway. Ended up finding my originals bolts a few days later which is stardard Murphy's Law.

Whoevere you've heard from obviously knows better than Toyota who strongly recommend replacement in their R154 and V160 workshop manuals and their service departments.

Contact Dellow automotive (Revesby area), I bought mine through them and think it cost around $18 for the lot.

ARP make quite good flywheel bolts. I have some for my 4A and they are quality gear.
    About $25ish or so.

Do ARP make JZ flywheel bolts? I'm going to need a set too.

V160 and R154 flywheel bolts are very different, so double-check before you buy.

I sure hope Dellow don't make these bolts themselves

    Gold!

Interesting to see if someone could actually clarify if the bolts ARE TTY or not.

    The manuals recommend replacing them.

I know quite a few folk who use grade 12 bolts from the bolt shop!

i replace 4 at a time, 4 get used twice, 4 are new. each new bolt sits next to a old bolt.

I'm using a half weight flywheel too (5kg / JUN) i dont know if this makes things worse or not but will probably fork out for 8 newies next time.
