unfortunately it's too late to make it a trophy class this year, but it does have some merit to possibly include a new class for next year.
But, as we always try to do, we want to be able to cover the most diverse cross section of entrants, trying to allow every entrant a sniff at some form of award / recognition. Some encouragement awards is on the list for this year

Plenty of parking... roof top is huge, plus we might be able to use the loading dock across the street. Need to confirm that. Worst case... parking at the other end of the roof top is where I was thinking.

Also we should really cater for the young drivers by having best P plater car awards. From best P plater car overall to best classic Toyota etc. There is a whole awards category we could open up to encourage more of the younger crowd who feel left out because they can't have turbo's for example. Also the awards you present to them why not make them just a cardboard certificate nothing fancy.
why not just give everyone award for the best "their car" they have.... then everyone is happy

i'd be a hell of a lot more happy if a bunch of people came up and were interested about my car, than if i get some stupid trophy or "cardboard (ceral box?) certificate"

I just hope people don't get too hung up on receiving an award and is happy to turn up and see some really cool cars and hang out with some Toyota nuts.

Yep it's certainly not a show aimed at trophy hunters. The show is really about getting together a heap of Toyota enthusiasts pride and joys so everyone can appreciate them. Some of them will be stand outs and will get trophies for this but that is really just a side effect and something that has to happen for it to be a "show".

I personally think that of the Toyota shows I have been to Toyota Fest is the one that you are least likely to strongly disagree with the results in terms of who wins what, but you're never going to please everyone.

What it boils down to is come along, have fun with a heap of like minded enthusiasts, check out some really nice Toyota's and if you have something that is more special than all of the other cars in it's specific trophy niche you might take home a trophy as a reminder of the awesome day you had.

It looks like we're going to have a good turn out this time around. I certainly don't envy the judges because it is a BIG job and you're always going to disappoint someone.

As one of the Judges I dontget to spend much of the day doing what for me ToyotaFest is all about, and thats the socialising side of things. The trophies are just a very minor part of the day and help with a little inspiration for some entrants. There is no down side to winning one thats for sure

With that in mind this year we will have some prizes that are just for entrants (there are prizes for spectators too) and every entrant will have an equal chance of winning. And its things like this I would rather see than a stack more Trophies. We do evaluate the trophies each year tho and are always open to suggestions.

I know I have said it before but f there was every ToyotaFest to enter, Its this one !

Guys I'm just exploring the idea of adding a new award for young drivers. Yet I hear people saying why don't you give everyone a award cmon I'm just adding my creative input.

There are already a tonne of Trophies IMO, adding more just makes the judges job even more tedious. You have to have a pretty immaculate car to come away with something at Toyotafest as the top end of show is full of fucking phenomal cars like IS1000, the numerous radrollaz cars & the plethora of mint old Celica's.

Like Oldcorollas I had a ball last year with randoms off the street & from the show walking up to the Caldina and wondering what the hell it was. Having a quick chat with people and showing them the car is far more enjoyable then a piece of paper. A lot of the cars on display aren't show cars but the same people rock up every year to chat and catch up with everyone. None of these people including me expect to come away with a trophy but it doesn't make the day any less enjoyable.
    If in doubt power out
