I can't believe I'm the only one asking this right now... I just hope that I've missed something. Why the change of venue? Some falling out with the Red Yard? Just curious... I don't get on here that much anymore.
easier to get to for most people (not me ) bigger area, more support from the venue. more amenities. etc etc
Ok, the reason I thought we held it at the Red Yard each year is because Red Yard = old Capitol Motors = heartland for a lot of the older Toyota's that grace the show each year. I always thought there was something philosophical about that... not that I really care about change of venue, makes no difference to me I'll have to do 1500km round trip regardless.
Andrew,
We originally approached Red Yard because it was the original home of Capital Motors which was potentially the sale point of a lot of the older Toyota's at the show. The management their were keen on the Show and all was looking promising. Things change tho and 2 lots of Centre management later we are still welcome there but the Show has outgrown the car park and the Centre doesn't really cater well to the family's and friends of the entrants. ie there is not much to look at or eat etc and they don't support the event other than allowing us to be there.
With Hills Home Hub we have managed to get a much larger and better area to display all the cars, they wont be split up over 2 separate car parks any more and we will as a result have a much better display. We can also cater for more than the almost 100 cars we have be seeing at recent years. The larger area also means its easier for spectators to get around and admire the cars on show.
On top of this the Hills Home Hub itself has come on as one of the shows biggest ever sponsors. They are helping us promote the show with Radio promotions and are also assisting us with organising other sponsors on the day so we can hopefully offer prizes for spectators on the day.
For those of thus that enter every year, the Hills Home Hub also offers a much larger array of shops and food venues for our friends and family who join us on the day. There is just way more to do.
The Castle Hill location has also allowed us to get a greater involvement from Toyota with Castle Hill Toyota expected to be taking part in the show on the day. As long time supports of Toymods and its members we are really happy they can be a part of the Show.
All round the new Venue has been an improvement on the old and we are looking forward to making this the new Home of ToyotaFest for many years to come.

Yeah Justen,
Entries are just on the day before the show starts. If entrants can have the right money ($10) with them it will make things a bit easier and quicker. We are also hoping to have the entry form up online soon so they can be filled in at home before the show.
