Contemplating entering my daily (seeing it's pretty clear my ke20 won't be there anytime soon ), but 1JZ cressidas are the VT commodore of toymods it seems, so i'd might as well just park in the car park with the rest of them ... haha

    Hi,

    No!!! Enter it!!!

Being at a new venue (of who have put in some substantial time and cash to promote the event) we want as many cars as possible to enter. So put it in and be a part of a new beginning for ToyotaFest.

We want as many cars as possible in the show. That's what makes it great, and more people mean more chin-wagging and getting to know the forum members in the flesh.

As Gayton Hewitt would shout out.. "Come On!!!!"

As Arnie would say... "C'mon, you can doo eeiit!"

As river would say "Don't be a dunderclump and a gayblade, bring your car!"

I can't say you're wrong but the reality is the show is all about the cars that our club and forum members own. What you're seeing is the evolution of the group, the longer people are into a certain thing the more they tend to look for the rarer and more special versions. This doesn't mean main stream cars are any less important but it's kind of understandable that something rare is going to get some extra attention from the crowd since it's not something people see every day.

I can't wait to see what cross section of the community we get to see this time around it should be great.

The Gayton Hewitt reference actually discouraged me for a moment, but you saved it with the gayblading reference

Cuzbro, bring yours and we can have our own burgundy boating section?

For those asking the question about nearby car washes... there are two within closish distance.

    1. About 50m drive. On anella Ave, behind the United servo (next door to the liquor store)

    2. About 1km drive. On Norwest Blvd... combined with the Caltex (i think) servo.

Both of these options are coin operated booth style. The first one only has 3 or 4 booths, but the 2nd has about 8 booths from memory.

I think the one on Norwest has 4 self serve booths and two "I hate my car and would like a machine to rape it thanks" booths.

Riv, it's not over-sensitivity, it's merely an observation. I think Josh has it right though, I've seen an evolutionary aspect happening over a number of years, like a number of us 162 drivers either writing-off or selling up for GT-Four's (ouch on the wallet kiddies), Soarer's, etc. I'd love to see all generations of Celica at ToyotaFest personally. Has it ever happened?

But what I've seen with migration from one car to another has been dependent upon lifestyle changes and other extenuating factors as such, not just personal choice to jump from one model to another.

I can see it now. A Tarago dedicated thread on the forums. Who'll be the one to start it I wonder?

Glad I read that link - really comforting to know I save myself hundreds each time I give my car some lovin'.

Washing it and taking care of it at home really pays off.

Personally before a show I go for a self-service wash at Car Lovers or similar and spend up big ($12 maybe) on a 'full detail'.

Depends what you value your time at I guess. The time spent properly detailing a car you could come close to earning that kind of cash depending on your employment.

Not to mention each time I have detailed my car for Nationals or Toyotafest I spend probably $50-100 on product, microfibre wipes etc.
    If in doubt power out
