Standard 1jz-gte just use BKR6E (or BKR7E) gapped to .8 (or something close to .8)
No need to go up a temperature range unless you start modding the engine, using a 9 or 11 temp range plug would be massive overkill
Hello all,
I have a BMW E34 with a Standard 1JZ from a JZZ30, 5 spd manual.
Standard everything except for an HKS Intake.
The Malaysian Weather overall is Hot/Humid/Wet. Average Hot Days 32Deg.
My question is I've see a lot of 1JZ running on NGK 6 Temp or 7 Temp plugs - the regular copper ones. With .77 gap ? IS this a suitable plug temp for the tropics with high temps ?
OR should I get 9's or 11's ?
Thank you.

Thanks Draven
Will get a 7 temp gapped to .8
Cheers
Aye 7 heat range gapped at 0.8 on a near standard engine will work nicely in the hot weather![]()
