    Default Split/Dual Plenum Chambers

I saw a picture (on Ebay) of a new Falcon 6 cylinder inlet manifold. It's made out of plastic and instead of using Ford's long standing (and successful) dual length primary pipes, it uses relatively short single primaries and splits the plenum chamber into 2 separate chambers. There appears to be an internal valve that then opens at some stage to link the 2 plenum chambers together.
Does anybody know the effect on the torque curve of separating the front 3 cylinders from the rear 3? My guess would be that the plenum chambers are kept separate at lower revs and then join together at higher revs.

Sounds like the same principle as Toyota's replacement for TVIS, ACIS (Acoustic Control Induction System).

This article covers it quite well too, along with TVIS

similar thing can be found on 7MGE intake manifold (ex MA70) - big butterfly valve splits plenum into two chambers.

    And the 3VZ, 1MZ and 2JZGE...
Can't remember if it's the same as the variable length manifold they use on Gen2/3 3SGEs though
